How to share Live Data with my spouse

Last Update 3 个月前

In v1.9.84 Sharing capabilities are being introduced under the Backup & Sync feature. For quick access tap the bottom bar "Backup & Sync" to open all relevant features.

To initiate a share simply click on the sharing icon (square with arrow pointing up) and follow the instructions to send a share invite to another person. After the other party accepts the share they will see all the iCloud backups from the device you initiated the share on and will be able to refresh their data readily.

Please not, this new sharing feature works one way - i.e. if the other party also wishes share data with you, they would need to initiate a share from their device but it can override any changes to your data if you both made changes (i.e. they do not merge). So, greater level of coordination is necessary under the current sharing method if this is a desired functionality. Version 2.0 will not have these limitations.

To remove sharing you can tap on the backup that is "shared by you" and stop sharing from the list of options.

Pro Tips for Sharing:

Ignore: You now also have the ability to ignore changes from any of the devices you wish to use as read-only so that you are not being reminded to sync unnecessarily.

Hide: You can also hide select accounts from the other party. Go to settings in the app (gear icon in the top right corner), tap Accounts and simply toggle off those accounts you do not wish the other party to see. Hit Save and you'r done! The next time a share is restored on the other person's device, those selected accounts will be hidden from view.
